Herro! My name is Madison. I am 21 years old and live in Australia with my fiancĂ© Jerome. We love running Veggieful together and work as an amazing team to put up delicious recipes and beautiful photos. While I am the recipe-writer and cooking queen, Jerome is the photographer and graphic designer and together we make Veggieful.com

I was never a cooking-fanatic and tried to avoid the kitchen as much as possible until I turned Vegan in 2010. I had been vegetarian for 1 year before that and decided to transition to veganism after being confronted with some horrific photos and videos about the dairy, egg and cosmetic industries. Since then, I have been a serious vegan and am loving it! I think it was a great turning point in my life as my body and mind feel 100% better and I have gained a passion for cooking and blogging.

"Tell me about yourself?" is a hard question, but the following would best describe my personality, interests and lifestyle: Animal-lover. Health-freak. Excitable. Easily-impressed. Studying Accounting at uni. Cooking. Girly. Running and exercise. Ambitious. Friendly. Tea-fanatic. Makeup. Lucky. Animal rights. Organised. Guinea Pigs. Sloths. Happy. Travel. Food. Cute things. Coffee. Costume parties. Family-orientated. Interior design. Lemon. Tofu. Sweet-tooth.

All in all, I absolutely adore running veggieful.com  - I love being able to assist others with vegan dishes and chat about cooking and food... Feel free to contact me to chit chat.

Madison is the loveliest most kind-hearted person I have met, and I’m a very lucky lad to share my life with her.  I don’t understand how she comes up with these tasty dishes and I have never missed animal products since the day she began cooking vegan delights.

Before I met her I wasn’t aware of the cruelty that is involved in cosmetics, meat and animal derived products just like everyone else. It is literally in almost everything, even when it’s not needed!

I’m not a professional photographer, nor do I claim to be. I try not to get caught up in the negative culture that surrounds photography equipment, although I do like my gadgets. If you would like to get involved in photography my only advice would be that, expensive equipment does not necessarily mean good shots, good shots come from passion and persistence… and boy, am I passionate about food!!!

Veggieful would not be here today without the help of our three favourite piggies: Pickles, Sherman and Mr. Sniffles. They love to model for Jerome's photography, watch me cook and eat all of the food! Sadly, Pickle (blonde) passed away on the 04/01/13. We miss him so much already. Check out his cute little photo collage below <3

  7. Do your guinea pigs carry any diseases or do guinea pigs generally carry any that can be treated with shots or creams to prevent them??do you have to take special care of them like take them to the vet a lot and bathe them a lot? and do they stink?, them personally and their cages &/or the room you guys keep them in????? Hehe sorry the Internet isn't that specific as you guys are :)!! :D

    1. Hi.. No our guinea pigs do not carry diseases. They have had one or two sicknesses such as urinary tract infections and they had to be taken for to the vet and put on antibiotics for that. I bathe them about once every couple of months. No, they do not stick but you need to clean out their bed every day. Obviously because you are keeping them in an enclosed area the bed will smell as they need to go to the toilet. We keep them in a massive open-topped bed in the loungeroom. It looks like a white picket fence house. You need a lot of room for guinea pigs... they cannot be kept in small cages and are also herd animals, so you need at least two guinea pigs. Piggies are quite high maintenance as you need to constantly be cleaning out their cage and making sure they get enough vitamin C. Guinea pigs are like humans in the fact that they cannot produce their own vitamin C and so, they can die from scurvy. So they need constant fruit and veggies. I love them so much but they are a lot of work... my chihuahuas are so much easier! :)

    1. Hello! I don't use any brands in particular. I just purchase bits now and then. When I need something, such as a mascara, I look on the PETA cruelty-free vegan company app before purchasing. If you're in Australia, Alythea Cosmetics is vegan as well as Musq Mineral Makeup :)
